I realized 08Feb that I could run a single CLI of cgminer to PoW mine via pool. As a result, I have not been running the dcrd daemon.

A big part of why I'm doing this stuff is to support the Decred network. With this in mind, is it beneficial to the network to run the dcrd daemon (is this referred to as a "full node?") or is that superfluous to the PoW mining once a minimal number of nodes are up?
