Maybe just a delta is good enough... or a delta with a single or double straight line (€, $) ... My suggestion: a delta inside an ellipse ... I suggest to put the delta in front of the ellipse ... The you can interpret the two ellipses left and right as two mirrored Cs ... which are connected to the word cryptocurrency ... and can also be connected to ECDSA ... It must be as simple as possible as it will be printed on many merchant shops ... People like some symmetry as well ... Wdyt? ... Any other alternatives?
Maybe you can mirror the "old" logo of this post bottom to top ... in order to end up again with the delta ... The 3D version could also be simpler and symmetric ... And we need to connect the simple graphic to a story / purpose ...
I will do ... It will be very basic ... I like the delta / triangle very much ... It has three corners ... One for each of the elements of a Cryptocurrency: Rules, Code and Proof.
I love the look! But... Consider any new logo as the favicon in your browser and the app launcher on your phone. That is more limiting then you might think, and one spot where bitcoin has done very well.
Both Android and iOS like to round edges. Windows Phone and new Windows like square tiles. Web browser icons are square, but low res... So, a lot of conflicting requirments. The logo I used at http://www.SmallWall.org was the stylized brick wall, and it works well. Simple, and conveys the purpose. The bitcoin logo looks like a coin with a stylized B. For Decred I could see a simple stylized credit card looking logo?
I'm just beginner with this graphical stuff, so it's very noobish. But hope it can inspire someone to do better. I don't know what usage it should have... If this would be regular card for payments or only some card with your address information and the private key on the back side or on the chip inside... If someone know something what to do with this it's yours PS: @kondiomir I used your cool logo. Hope it's not problem.
