While that is only 1 of 33 words, I would still be careful about posting it. Regardless, glad you got your coins!
Hi, Somehow I missed my decred airdrop notification. I went back through my email and now I'm getting a 404 error on the confirmation link. How do I go about getting this fixed?
There is nothing to fix. You don't need the confirmation page. It only served to let you know that your submission was accepted. The only thing you need is the seed (the 33 words) you were instructed to write down and not lose when you went through the initial address generation process to submit for the airdrop.
There are no seeds which have 18 words, so I'm not sure where you're getting those. Your seed consists of 33 words from the PGP word list.
Ahh, then I must have missed the boat on registration. Is there any way to verify / catch up? Hello, You recently signed up for the Decred airdrop. The project is delighted to let you know your application has been successful! The next step is to generate a wallet address where your coins will be sent. Please visit the confirmation link below and follow the instructions to complete the airdrop process. For your convenience, binaries are provided for major operating systems with detailed instructions. However, source code is also available for the security conscious. Additionally, a forum support thread has been created specifically to help with any issues that might be encountered and guide you through the process if you need assistance. Thank you for your interest and welcome! Alright, so it looks like you didn't complete the process. You had to go to the confirmation link and follow the instructions which consisted of generating your seed and the first address based on it on your local computer and submitting that address to the airdrop. The airdrop concluded several months ago now, so if your address was not submitted by the deadline, you unfortunately missed out.
Thanks for being chill about it. Had someone last year threatening to take down the entire project. I mean, it was an impotent threat, but it's nicer to deal with people who can take some foul weather without going insane.
Long time now see. Sorry I have been gone for so long, life takes you in many strange directions. I have a quick question. I recieved my airdrop confirmation a long time ago and went through the entire seed process. Only one problem is that when I check the key it shows no transactions (and subsequently empty). Any idea how to remedy this? I took a screen cap of my airdrop confirmation which includes the decred address and confirmation id as well as the first address and extended public key.
Unfortunately, it is a little late for airdrop things. Have you created a wallet with your airdrop seed and checked it?
Unfortunately you must have did the same mistake that several other people also committed. Instead of copying the correct seed, which appeared during the creation of the wallet by command line, you noted the example seed, which appeared in the tutorial screen.
Freedom! Buddy! You're back! I was certain we had seen the last of you. So as you can see if you check my current profile: if the address you received was DsnaAq4hTjBvbim5TNSuGXwbdec7phsttg9, then you did make the mistake that Emilio is talking about. (and even if you hadn't, you missed out on a whole year of staking earnings. However, I feel that Decred has been without a designer of your caliber for the past year. I'm sure you can put together some earnings potential. (And I'd like in on that.) I did sell 5 of your "To The Moon" stickers, though.
Fortunately the address you listed was not the address I received so I dont think I made the mistake Emilio is talking about. Thank you for the kind words. I checked the RFPs but didnt see much in the way of designer unless I missed something. Want to start earning my keep if you know what I mean. I would have thought you would sell many more than 5!
The RFPs aren't currently active (going to be reworked somewhat). Instead there are some posts in the RFP section about contractors which is a bit more where our current outside contributed work is right now. So you might find things more to your interest there.
It was a statistically significant portion of overall sales. I'm good at making things, but awful at selling them.
hi guys.. i feel like i was living under a rock.. so i registered for airdrop but not sure what i had back in jan 2016.. the only thing i found on my machine is a keys.txt file. it has an address and an extended public key.. i couldn't find where i saved the 33 word passphrase.. my qs is at which point does the keys.txt file get created? any way to get access to my account with just the keys.txt file? (i think i know the answer for this but wanted to still ask
Hey KrisP, without the 33 word seed, there's nothing you can do to access the funds. Hopefully you can find it!
Hi, I missed the airdrop, I recevied the airdrop confirmation but never followed through, am i still able to get the DCR from the airdrop? I applied for this article I wrote in 2016: https://btcmanager.com/altcoins-took-major-strides-in-2015/ I know its probably too late, but thought trying here might be worth a shot.
