You came out damn great man LOL i like your style
In early morning i'm always like that!! You can ask my girlfriend !!
btw i think is important in early stage to avoid scam like fake exchanges and fake wallet.
The first two thing that scammers does at the beginning are ALWAYS exchanges and wallets.
I will open a topic soon on the argument, sorry if i was off topic on this.
one easy example on DASH (one of our big competitor).
After the lunch one community member has started this web wallet advertising the community on the official forum:
The wallet still online today. So this guy has scammed about 200k of dash at the community because you can't withdraw .We will face this problems soon.
This would be great because a lot of newcomers will probably, when the mainnet is released, might come across these.
I'm glad that we took another step. Now the coming of the TESTNET.
i think so bro, especially for those who don't really understand about cryptocurrency yet, those scammers could squeeze everything from them lol
And a few minutes of searching shows people have been complaining bout that since July... And they still have no https. And it is free and trivial to set up with https://letsencrypt.org/ so I am not sure why...
Ok, with my limited abilities...
I realize my old nvidia 9800GT will probably be of no use to mine decred since mining is made on modern AMD cards. Also, for decred to serve another purpose than to be hoarded we need to convince people to sell us stuff for decred. I may sound naive but wouldn't be hadware sellers good targets for preliminary discussions ?
Telling them we have a cryptocurrency and asking them what would be their expectations for decred to be accepetd. Sellers like newegg and stuff. I don't think i should start to redact an email myself alone but i have good English to French translation skills and i could help discuss with our big online sellers here.
Who would be though sells because they don't use bitcoin at all.
P.S. Why not simply trade decred at kraken ? This one accepts fiat. We could buy decreds directly wiothout transiting via shady crypto exchanges paying fees left and right and being scammed in the process.
Sorry if my post comes as improductive or overly naive. I am strarting in this.
Waiting for testnet!! Good job
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh... Don't EVER put a password into an unsecured website.
Well that's a lie. "all passwords & sensitive data are encrypted"
My browser says otherwise.
Yeah, I thought the site was just down at first. But maybe it's cause I have HTTPS Everywhere installed? OH well, not that it matters. It'd be silly to use it after reading all this. It doesn't make sense that someone is into cryptocurrencies enough to build an exchange, yet somehow manages to not implement really basic security features.
This is awesome...
Bittrex has better customer support, Polo never replies. I wouldn't want to give my personal info to an exchange that is so opaque. Bittrex is my first choice.
It's important to protect your wallet and seed against possible hacking to your pc.
Suggest to do a back-up on a portable device.
Cryptoworld is full of hacking activities.
I'm quite sure some of airdroppers will fall against some hacking and loose theyr coins(maybe downloading a virus wallet, or any generic trojan searching for .txt files).
Protections is nevere enough in this cases.
Don't leave your seed on an unprotected pc.
thanks! When testnet starts running ill be throwing my 2 290s at it. They havnt mined in a long, long time. Lets see if I can fry them and get a couple new cards. Thank God its still winter, it will warm my house.
That's very nice that the airdrop had such a good response from the crypto-community. I really hope the testnet starts soon, so that we can try everything out !
Poloniex is probably best option for US....Kraken having problems, influx to Poloniex now
the wallet/cgminer etc are now available at https://github.com/decred/. Happy decreding... happy mining...
dcrd and dcrwallet are just empty placeholder repos. The cgminer repo is full and complete, however. You can compile that and benchmark your hardware if you're curious. Signed binaries should be out later today (if you don't want to compile).
ooops, i didn't verify all the repos in excitement and just tested the cgminer repo. however, i am expecting them to be on-line in a day or two.
