It was no Litcoin before Bitcoin as far as I know... Looks like a scam.
Haha, guess it's KIND of a good sign if a scam is trying to attach itself to Decred to create hype for itself. Mean's Decred's doing something right.
Not the first, won't be the last. I will take advantage in first 48 hours of launch though to make a quick buck off this trash.
All it is is a pump and dump sh*t coin. We've got a fantastic community here, and dedicated devs, so it is destined to be successful.
Decred a different currency.
Decred is definitely a better currency than Litcred. They are not on the same level period. Someone is always trying to ruin a good thing and exploit it for their capital gain. It wont work this time. Decred does not have anything to worry about.
Life is about making an impact, not making an income
That is a very true statement!
They're not supposed to be on the same level, that's the whole point of the 'Lite'. I didn't worry much about Litecred. I honestly don't think it's a bad thing. I'm just a little disappointed that Litecred didn't draw more attention to Decred than it did. Litered was launched on the 9th and the "Initial Propagation" (fancy for airdrop) was the 11th, yet I haven't heard a thing about it. Litecred isn't just obscure either; I actually had a little trouble finding it the first time I heard about it. If anything, Decred's popularity will boost up Litecred with little to no benefit to us. Oh well; like I said before, it isn't really a bad thing to have followers.
How did they gear up and launch BEFORE Decred? Do they even incorporate the same sort of governance and technical specifications?
I think they just saw Decred, and decided to lie about having the same features. Decred was announced like almost two months ago, no way there was enough time for someone to see the features and then code a copycat in less than a month.
I think and incompatibility of some internal values.
It's yet another Bitcoin-QT fork, no Decred code at all. Looks like another POS coin, this time with a 10% skim off the top of every block minted going to the "developers."
Yeah, that's not suspicious at all.
Let's see, according to the code... 1 year of POW before switching to POS(no skimming during the POW phase), first 10 blocks were an airdrop of 1/3 of the total POW coins... looks like it was *actually* forked from Novacoin, but curiously, the Unix build instructions for the initial checkin contain a reference to Blackcoin. SHA256 address hashing, Blake-256 is nowhere to be found.
Wonder if i could be part of the next Bitcoin , would love to be add to airdrop. My email: firstname.lastname@example.org
@Bitwonder: The airdrop signup closed on the 18th. Keep an eye out for Decred on exchanges once everything launches if you are interested in owning some coins.
