I just had a thought about how difficult the early internet days were, to make secure and direct payments online, before secure SSL Encryption credit card methods, PayPal, e-Gold, Western Union, Liberty Reserve and many other merchants were around, and before Bitcoin and any other crypto currency was around.

I then had a deep think, and thought…

Before there was any need for credit cards, before merchants like PayPal, and before Bitcoin came out, what were or what still are, the standard and most common payment methods and account types for the everyday average user?

    And I thought these:

    1. Physical Money in the hand
    2. Standard and Local Based Bank Accounts

So I had a further thought, and asked myself…

    1. How could we make Decred more direct, simplified, accepted, secure and friendly to a standard everyday bank account user, locally friendly to all major local banks worldwide?

    2. How could we beat, takeover, remove and simplify the credit card requirement that PayPal holds in the road, as a requirement for lots of international new internet shoppers who try to pay or buy something internationally from online for their first time, and end up finding out that they need to open a PayPal account, then they end up in fact finding out further, that they need to get a credit card and get a form of ID as well, to open up a PayPal account in the first place?

    3. And then PayPal users next also find out further account balance maximum limitations, that PayPal comes with, which Crypto Currencies can certainly beat, so I certainly guess this is one factor that Decred will easily get ahead of?

    4. How can we make sure all currency exchanges, conversions, transfers and transactions are cheaper, faster, more reliable and more secure?

Overall, can we make Decred the most ultimate and best method of choice for everyday international payments with meeting all the followings and advantages?

    • Simplest
    • Cheapest
    • Convenient
    • Direct
    • Reliable
    • Easiest
    • Fastest
    • Instant
    • Secure
    • Friendly
    • Flexible
    • Economic
    • Efficient
    • Effective
    • Golden Standard
    • Global and worldwide adopted and accepted

I just thought I would post this thought and comparison of insight, to try and help open further more points up, into what we could perhaps try and improve Decred by.
    :)

I did originally post a much more basic point of similar or related facts and terms here:
    https://forum.decred.org/threads/wh...ts-of-points-concepts-and-topics.59/#post-860

But except I did not go as deep into the specific points of comparing how difficult internet transactions have been since the early internet days, and comparing how a lot of standard everyday bank account users do not have a direct form of entry or credit card to use PayPal.

Overall, is this a good idea and direction to try thinking about and towards for Decred?

Hi Michael, these thoughts seem very relevant!

For my blog (Decred Discovery) I've been investigating different digital currencies. Naturally, each currency strives to be the next big thing, but it seems to me that each one tries to be excellent in one (or a few) particular points of the list that you mentioned.

Due to the fact that Decred uses a hybrid PoW/PoS system and community based governance, I think it has a good chance to be one of the most balanced currencies out there. So, my thoughts: let's not focus on one specific point in the list and accept possible trade-offs, but let's strive to develop Decred into a currency that scores good on all these points.

Great list, I'm interested to hear what others think :)
