I miss hacking so I started a group for Capture the flag. We are getting hosting and everything set up. Keeping mind that this is controlled network owned by the interested parties and this is all legal. Basically we're going to set up a bunch of VMs with Kali and a few Windows boxes and create contests where people gain access the opposing parties machines. Missions might include changing the desktop background on the opposing team's machines. Maybe dump the opponent's database from a website as they try to protect it and attack yours. This is mostly for fun. But there will be some prizes in the future. https://www.facebook.com/groups/551015918393309/
Nowadays most of the people have demand for hackers. it's better take good coaching class in good institute @ClokworkGremlin all the best!
It's something a self motivated person could teach himself. I've spent thousands of hours of lab time and probably read through several hundred thousand pages infosec related material not including man pages and --help. No structured ciriculum just a lot of drive and curiosity. Degree not required but formal education helps a lot. If you live somewhere near a real college and you can afford it college is probably the better option.
