the 3.8xx is deducted from my spendable balance and the other 3.8xx I have no idea where its from..? Any idea? Or is this a feature in PoS to match ppl with same pricing together to make 1 ticket?
lol no that amount seems equal to 2+ PoS reward so one of your earlier rewards got mature and wallet used it along with one big input, probably the airdrop one filtered down into a change address, to get a new ticket.
you can always check the addresses if they belong to your wallet or not by running --wallet validateaddress "address" and see if ismine field is "true" or not.
Ticket price adjusted to lower value, now: 6.34 I stopped buy new tickets at price 2.58, and I'm going to continue buy them again at the price ~ 3. PS: do not forget upgrade your software to v0.0.5, it seems that devs fixed some fees related issues, now you can set fee to 0.005 instead of default minimum 0.05 - for PoS, if you're buying 100+ tickets it matters.
Thanks for the tip on the fees, I've tried upgrading and I'll see what happens for the fee. How low can you set it? I'm not convinced staking will go below 3.7 a ticket, since that's a price which is sustainable for replacing the initial 2 DCR stakes on a 1 for 1 basis.
It dropped down for the first time to 6.xx but I don't think it will drop any lower than 5 if it even goes down again looks like its going to stabilize between 6-7 now. I only have 1.3Ghs, but I'm pretty happy with everything so far. Had 30dcr when first stake block happened so I was able to buy 13 tickets at 2dcr and what I do now is constantly buy tickets when I can. I auto withdrawal from pool 5dcr at a time, the first 2 - sets of 5dcr go to wallet to keep buying stake tickets and the 3rd withdrawal of 5dcr I sell to get back my initial dcrd purchase/investment . Very happy so far with my return. 2 stake tickets selected so far as of this morning but need to check it when I get home.
Nice to see that! My luck wasn't as good as yours though, 50 odd tickets and only about 3 chosen hahaha. Yea, how do we adjust the fees? If I recall correctly, if you have lower fees compared to other ticket buyers, your ticket is supposed to be on the priority list instead of the lesser fees tickets right?
Yeah higher tx fees are suppose to get priority but it's broken atm, so it's not worth it to set fees higher until it is fixed. The command is settxfee <amount> though.
I think they fixed it in latest release version 0.0.5, @ceejep can you confirm this please? Also is prunetickets now working?
if it is broken now, it meant that we can set the fee to 0.00001 and still get the same priority as those paying the default fee isn't it?
To answer my own question, ticket pruning is now automatic. Just need to know if setting fees would cause any trouble. ANyone tried to set fees successfully?
New ticket price is 4.23 DCR, and poolsize is still ~ 41.000 Well, you should consider both fees and mempool size. If mempool is ~ 15 you can send your ticket purchase request with the lowest fee (20 tickets / bock). If mempool is 800 and average fee is 0.0625, then with low fee you have to wait in the queue at least 40 blocks (800 / 20), but probably even longer, because there will be plenty of new transactions in the mempool. PoS price adjusts each 144 blocks. So your PoS strategy should be like this: 0. Look how many blocks left before price adjustment. 1. If mempool size small - buy ticket with the lowest fee. 2. If mempool is big - buy ticket with fee > average fee, if you really want to take exactly this ticket price. ANyone tried to set fees successfully? Yes, for me it works. But also automatic ticket purchasing works for me from the 0.0.1-beta. I purchased more then 150 tickets during these 3 weeks, all purchases were automatic.
@Dyrk i was asking for default fee for auto purchase. If say i set it at 0.01 then will it work for tickets as well as normal tx?
Now I'm confused, in code (main branch) there are still 0.05 fee. However I succeed to send regular TX with 0.005 fee. And I decided now to try buy one ticket for the price 4.23 with the fee 0.005: https://mainnet.decred.org/tx/2d437224a464fd814975543acf3d5c3b83a43c60273b731693d4910766e03cea As you see fee for SStx still 0.05 DCR.
Perhaps they separated both things as there is alot of competition for sstx but none at all for normal ones. I asked them for this as a feature. Although i don't know for sure, i am speculating. Is there any code change that hints this?
