I'm not 100% sure yet, but there seems to be a bug in ccminer which never submits a block .. Did some of you guys with ccminer actually got a block from solo mining or are you all in a pool ?
Ah thats what I see too.. I believe there is something wrong with ccminer... Its finding blocks way too rarely
I mined solo for a few days but got nothing.. I've then switched to pool mining to at least get something. I don't want to risk mining solo and not getting anything while the difficulty goes up. Same thing happened to me mining bitcoin a long time ago with a couple of Butterfly Labs ASICs. The difficulty increased very fast making these devices useless in a couple of weeks.. Does anyone know how fast difficulty is rising for DCR?
You can plot it on the pool's page, but it actually took a small step down if I understand it right. You can also use getdifficulty.
i"m on pool doing well... my miner is showing 650MH/s but i have( -I 23 ) diff 4 and it runs @ to 1.1GH/s on pool sometimes.
And here comes the comic relief of the miner community: GT9800: between 7 and 55 megahashes/sec. In fact i am pleasantly surprised that 6 years old beast is still recognised by the software. I have painfully mined 0.4 decred. so far.
I' running a GTX 965m on around 600 MH/s, and a GTX 750 ti, at around 450 MH/s. - If those numbers are of value to you.
Nope, it can be fixed. I did a 3x - 4x reduction in mine, but I don't want to remove it entirely because it would make my version hard to merge with your later official edits.
Here is a screenshot of around 4 days and 15 hours worth of solo mining that I have been doing: My Graphics Card is a: Sapphire ATI Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC (UEFI) 4GB PCI-Express Video Card *2xDVI *HDMI *DisplayPort And I have so far not found a block yet I am guessing that I don't have a good chance of finding one
with that hashrate you need lots of luck & lots of time. youcan earn somewhere between 2-3 DCR with that rate on a pool. so if you can't find a block in 6-8 days or less you have better chance at pool.
You have appr. 0.04 to 0.05 percent of the network hashrate, which means you will find one in every 2000 to 2500 blocks. This means you have to mine for another 5 days to find your first block. You already came quite close with that 117k best share. With this low hashrate you could consider joining a pool. You'll get some dust for every block the pool finds. Or continue mining solo and getting a full block every week or 10 days. Same reward effectively, just different timely distribution.
Not anymore 3. Network hashrate is now regularly between 3.5 and 4 TH/s. Rewards are down to 1.0-1.25 DCR per day and GH/s.
It's not useless even with just one GPU. But rewards are according to how much hashrate you provide and how much hashrate the total network has. In terms of profitability it is already now not very profitable anymore (or never has been for this coin) since total hashrate and difficulty are high, block rewards for PoW are very small (compared to BTC) and price of coins is cheap thanks to airdrop participants who just registered for some quick free money and still sell out their coins. Most PoW miners probably mine to stock up coins and keep them for years in the hope that price will increase by one or two orders of magnitude. The only miners mining very profitable even now are those with free electricity, who let their employer pay for it. Or the gaming kids that cash out the free electricity from their parents by mining coins which they then sell for BTC to buy games with, or weed on the dw.
