    .
    .

    I installed required things through the apt-get command.
    When I ran clinfo I got-

    clinfo: /build/beignet-gwJEXu/beignet-1.0.3+dfsg/src/intel/intel_driver.c:142: intel_driver_context_init: Assertion `driver->ctx' failed.
    Aborted (core dumped)

    Any idea how to fix it?

    There is a very big difference between setup and maintenance. Linux can be harder to set up. But I have clients with Linux boxes I set up for a specific purpose with years of uptime and no calls. Generally, once you set up Linux, it just works forever. Windows, on the other hand, slowly degrades over time. :)

    Try adding yourself to the video group if you're not in it already.

    There are tons of bugs in earlier beignet/kernel releases.

    I use Beignet 1.1.1 with kernel 4.4.5 on Arch Linux.

    @Lee Sharp is right though, I have one of the more powerful Intel GPUs (HD5000) with 40 Execution Units/cores and I get 128Mh/s on it. A 750Ti will do ~500Mh/s for $100.

    I only use Intel graphics for mining on testnet since that's really all they're good for.
