Great news! The war with Apple is over and, finally, Dcrstats + Stakepool app was published in the store. It's an early version and price alerts was not yet included in this build. The update with more cool stuff coming this week (actually it's already ready for deploy, it's just a question of approval in the stores). Please feel free to ask for any additional features, which you want to see in the app and report any bugs and issues. The main goal of this app is to simplify PoS-mining for the Dcrstats Stakepool users. >> Android app in the Playstore >> iOS app in the Itunes Full announce and features description here: https://dcrstats.com/app
Today I've deployed an update. Now you don't need to jump to the Blockchain Explorer when you are trying to guess the best ticket fee. Click the button "Open Fees Explorer" in PoS section of the Dcrstats main page, and you will get all the info about ticket fees in the last 10 blocks As always you can also access this data through the API (last 16 blocks here): https://dcrstats.com/api/v1/fees
Hi @Dyrk Wouldn't it be more meaningful to display the actual fee Instead of fee/Kb? That way, we do not have to figure it out the actual fee by multiplying 0.55 (for pool tickets) or 0.23 (for solo tickets) .
No, I don't think that it will be more meaningful because users should know which fee to set with the setticketfee command. Otherwise, when you see that someone is paying 0.3355 dcr of real fee, you should solve even more complex equation to understand which fee to set X = (0.3355 * 100) / 55 = 0.61 Also, PoW miners order ticket purchase transactions by DCR / 1 Kbyte rate, as far as I know. So, even if some solo-miner paying less fees than you, he can still be ahead of you, because his transaction is 300 bytes only, so fee rate multiplier is 3.3, while for you is < 2. Yeah, something went wrong after update to 0.5.0. Probably the old dcrd node went out of memory and died during synchronization of the new version. Don't worry about the stakepool servers, I will just copy the new DB from dcrstats to the other servers, so there will be no downtime.
Wait, are you saying that the priority of which our PoS ticket are mined is base on DCR/kb? Omg, I have always thought that it's the absolute total fee that counts. Now I finally understand why some solo miner is placed ahead of me even though my final ticket fee is clearly higher than them. In this case pool miner will always be at a disadvantage because to match the solo miner multiplier, we ended up have to always pay a lot more.
@gravityz3r0 yeah, that is why some pool miners prefer to buy tickets with the higher price (~ 28 dcr) and 0.01 fee. Also, by doing this they do not allow the price drop too low, where solo miners will beat them with the lower (only 30%) fees. But don't worry, while the ticket price is > 25 DCR, we are ahead of those solo-losers
How do I setup paymetheus and dcrstats with the new purchase tickets layout? I can't get this to highlight the purchase box.
@Dyrk, Would you consider adding a link to dcrstats that would allow me to force full page view on my mobile phone? There are some data/figures I find useful that I'm only able to view on my desktop.
