I thought about creating the Decred favicon with a color fade idea set into it. I have so far come up with 5 different fade sets of color strengths. Color fade #1: Color fade #2: Color fade #3: Color fade #4: Color fade #5: I thought about the color fade idea, from how the colors fade together on the decred.org main page.
Wow, this looks nice. Do you want to upload the source files so others can work on it too if they want? I think we can use this for sure. Can I add you to the designer user group?
Yeah, for sure I'll upload the source files so others can work on it too. Thanks _ingsoc, I'm very happy to become part of the designer user group
Is it possible to use them as vector images in different sizes? I tried Inkscape but I can't export it to .png in a crisp and sharp way. You can tell my inexperience as a designer is now showing!
So far, I have found the same problem in the formatting myself too It looks like my modified image is very solid set, and doesn't currently have the vector resize flexibility, like I have seen with Microsoft clip art and other vector images before I'll try and see if I can convert it into a vector image or re-create it into a vector image I'll post an update on here, once I have tried some things out, I'll see what I can do anyway
I really like that second one. That would be very useful and I think a nice upgrade of what we currently have as a favicon. Maybe other designers can help here and see what they can come up with too.
Good News! I have fixed the svg image files, the vector re-sizing flexibility fully works now. I simply redid the fade color in Inkscape from the original favicon file, and that removed the pixel, blur and re-sizing problems! And this also now gives us much more color, blend, fade and gradient spectrum flexibility control too!
I've cleaned up some artifacts from the source file that I noticed in yours. It reduced the file size almost by half, and makes it load faster on low-end computers. I like the fade, especially the 2nd one.
Thank you ClokworkGremlin It certainly is an advantage to have cleaned up some artifacts, shrunk the size and sped up the source file for people to view and load. Update: I actually have found the 5 color selection to click on from the bgfadelogo2_revised.svg, so the modify is more perfect than I first recognized and thought! So Thank you ClokworkGremlin, you have been extremely helpful for us!
I didn't really pay much attention to the gradient, Inkscape probably didn't save some of the fine-tuning you'd done.
No worries now ClokworkGremlin, I actually found the 5 color gradient selection in your nicely clean new copy of bgfadelogo2_revised.svg file So everything is actually more perfect than I thought, my apologies for not trying to click and check more deeper and multiple in the bgfadelogo2_revised.svg file So Thank you again ClokworkGremlin!
Since I have added another 3 different fade sets of color strengths to the original 2, I have to create a separate post with the 5 .svg vector image attachments in it, due to a maximum of 5 attachments per post Here are the 5 .svg vector image files:
II have been playing around and testing out some new effects with the Inkscape program, and I have so far found these interesting 3 effects: Effect #1 (Dark And Glow): Effect #2 (Felt): Effect #3 (Organic):
Thanks for your opinion Vanputlei, I have now uploaded the Dark And Glow .svg file for anyone to save and use
I tweaked the #5 logo on here a bit and ended up using it on the project's GitHub. What do you guys think? I think we're getting closer to a style guide. Really nice to see everyone working together and content being created and used.
@_ingsoc ...it looks great. Nice selection.. Do we have a 'D' logo like $,¢,₹, a currency symbol? We can work on it if we do not have now
