There is an e-mail on www.SmallWall.org to contact me, and it will not answer "You want me to what?" But you can also find me with m0n0wall, and Untangle, and Elastix at another e-mail address I use. I figure secure communications start with me NOT telling you how to contact me here. And I was thinking of it in general, not the silver offer primarily. I doubt most people want to buy Decred with silver. I suspect Bitcoin will be more popular.
I was thinking more of a link in this thread to smallwall.org as an automated way for people to see you are serious but whatever works for you. If email is it then so be it. Just to be clear I am trading silver bullion for decred. As we say in CATAN - HAVE silver WANT decred. hehe Your recent post was not clear on that.
Putting up a website (especially one for on only 1 year old project) is quite easy, as is hacking a single page of a website. But putting stuff in the wayback machine, or old e-mail archives can be much harder. I always dig a bit before I trust, and it would take a lot of work and a lot of time of time for a little alt-coin fraud. http://m0n0.ch/wall/list/showmsg.php?id=198/24 But if someone really wants, I may stick a Decred donation address on the page.
OK so we have a vouched for volunteer to act as escrow. Lee you never did state a fee for your services. Can you clarify?
I was trying to figure that out in another thread. How about 4%? (In Decred, not shaving the ingot... )
Sounds ok to me. Are you wanting to base this on product cost($15 in example $.60) or total transaction cost($19 in example $.76)?
As I said, I think your situation will be special, but I am thinking total amount transfered, in decred. In a coint to coin transfer, I am thinking 2% from each side. (2% total decred, and 2% total bitcoin, for example.)
I could be flexible... After all, I am only do this to help out at the beginning. I am not trying to make a business out of it.
I'm definitely in support of real transactions instead of bouncing numbers around so count me interested. I think /r/dogemarket on reddit helped with Dogecoin's credibility in 2014 and I bought some stuff there! Since I don't have any, I'd like to buy silver. With a trustworthy escrow of course. Lee Sharp do you have a bitcointalk account for reference?
Drunken / DCR-Community, Although I have no unique credibility as of yet, (not a dev) but if supported, I am willing to undertake the escrow service duties between Drunken + Participant for no fee other than shipping cost to the participant(s). The only consideration would be the cost that it would take me to "re-ship" the product(s) to the buyer(s). I am unaware of the shipping cost of a single (or multiple) 1oz bullion bar at this time, but I would recommend USPS shipping with tracking. (insurance of $50.00 is included, I believe) I estimate this "re-ship" charge to be under $5.00. I would not be interested in participating unless a minimum of package insurance and tracking are included in the agreement as to cover a potential courier error. Drunken made it clear in his original post that this is applicable to the continental United States only. If considered, I will go to my local USPS tomorrow to obtain a price quote to ship this within the USA and report back to the community.
No, as I am not big in the "coin" community. I am a FOSS guy, and System/Network Architect/Admin. That was the key, I have a reputation with a lot to loose that has noting to do with alt-coins or bitcoins. I am not in this for the investment. I am in it for the technology! Google me with firewall, m0n0wall, Elastix, or Untangle to fine me quite readily on the Internet. Or "lee sharp houston consultant" gets some good hits. Wow! I forgot about Zoneminder! Been a while...
I had pictured me including a second envelope with the purchasers address all labeled up and ready to go but not sealed so as to allow verification. This ready mailer would be placed in an envelope that goes to escrow agent. That way only I have to deal with shipping and only I am responsible for getting it right. I would prefer and I hope all would agree that the transactions are fully in decred. I mean the whole point of me parting with any of my silver was to promote the value of decred. This makes all airdrop decred buys free for the purchasers anyway! If I dont get 25 decred purchasers then I will consider multiple 1oz bars to single traders if wanted. I am even thinking of putting in some kind of official note saying: Date: <current date> You are #X in the first decred for physical product sales. This trade was a 1oz .999 silver bullion bar for x decred BLAH Cool stuff BLAH Big things BLAH BLAH thanks for trading -drunkenmugsy
Thank is a good idea Drunken and I would definitely be in support of such transaction. If I can be a part, I would be happy to do so.
Sign me up as well. I'll be #4. I'm in the US, not really interested in using an escrow unless you are.
