Hello everyone, It is with great honour that the project can announce Decred is now free and open-source software. The project's GitHub has been filled with software repositories. As always, the most efficient way to raise an issue is to open one in the corresponding repository. The project can now accept pull requests in all of the repositories as well. Pull requests are greatly appreciated and the foundation upon which Decred is built. In addition, final binaries for mainnet are now also available. These are encrypted 7z archives and can be decrypted using a key announced upon launch through a file archiver such as 7-Zip or p7zip. Thank you for your help and continued patience as we now brace ourselves for the launch of mainnet at 12:00 PM CST February 8th, 2016! dcrd 433 files changed, 65252 insertions(+), 30116 deletions(-) dcrwallet 106 files changed, 16328 insertions(+), 3728 deletions(-) dcrrpcclient 24 files changed, 2538 insertions(+), 891 deletions(-) dcrutil 52 files changed, 2053 insertions(+), 1062 deletions(-) Sincerely, Decred Project Note: Commits to GitHub for the genesis block and network configurations will be made tomorrow as well.
Good job. Will the web wallet be available on release? Or will I have to use the files you have posted to access my airdrop funds?
Congrats! What dcrutil & dcrrpcclient are for? and will there be any difference in usage of dcrctl? Thanks
Hello @_ingsoc I am glad to hear everything has gone smoothly thus far. With regards to the decryption key. Would it be possible to have some clarification on where it will be posted? I can envision there being some instability/issues accessing the forum at launch if there is a huge spike in traffic... Might I suggest: 1. Adding the key to Github in the dcrd README.md.[1] 2. Posting it here on the forum as an alert. 3. Amending the original DCR announcement at BitcoinTalk[2] to include it. 4. Posting it on the Decred subreddit.[3] This would offer some redundancy and ensure nobody could miss out. Again thank you and the whole Decred team for the work you have done and will continue to do going forward. Excellent post and great point! We'll make sure it's blasted across all the platforms at the same time. On the forum, Twitter, BitcoinTalk, Reddit, GitHub, and the IRC channel. Hopefully that will provide enough failover in case something goes down.
