    Hi guys,
I have similar problem."Could not start the wallet executable. May be another instance is already running. Continuing startup". I have the newest java and i checked the task manager is nothing there. I started the java file from the command prompt , it is all the same. I am using Win 8.1 64 bit. Please advise?

The first thing you should do is to restart your PC. If that didn't work, pleas try to start decrwallet by itself and post the output here.

You start decrwallet by doing the following:

Open a command prompt (cmd.exe) and navigate to the folder that contains the decred executables.
    For testnet enter:
dcrd -u local -P none --testnet
    else enter:
    dcrd -u local -P none

Open a second command prompt (cmd.exe) and again navigate to the folder that contains the decred executables.
    For testnet enter:
dcrwallet -u local -P none --testnet
    else enter:
    dcrwallet -u local -P none

the second is the interesting part.

I was curious how it works under Linux - although it does not pass tests (can provide errors if interested), 008 jar file successfully starts daemon, wallet and shows the main window. Great work !

Great that it works for you and that you like it!

The test methods are at this moment only useful for the development of Decred and need a lot of work as they do some stuff they shouldn't do. If you deactivate those tests you should be fine. As I am working on stuff for the HTC Vive at the moment, I don't have too much time to do this, but I'll see how much i can fix in the next days.

The first command prompt is running good, the second the output is this :

    F:\down\decred wallet\DecredJWallet_a8>dcrwallet -u local -P none
The wallet does not exist. Run with the --create option to initialize and create it.

    F:\down\decred wallet\DecredJWallet_a8>

I can't get it to run so I tried the java command and I get this error message.

org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connect to localhost:9110 [localhost/127.0.0.1] failed: Connection refused: connect
    9109

Any idea how to fix this error?
