Great, guess I got this so far. So depending on who (Pool/my wallet) wins that voting-race I might get an error-message from my wallet like this (below)? [ERR] WLLT: Cannot handle chain server voting notification WinningTickets: Error encountered attempting to create vote using ticket <my-ticketID>: -32603: already have transaction <txID> Guess in this case, the Pool was faster. Is there anything I need to do if such error has occurred (like revoke...)? Any idea what the number of -32603 might tell me?
As a newbie, the stake-mining/ticket-buying/ticket-bid system seems byzantine. I am sure it makes perfect sense to the devs and technical early adopters, but to even a moderately technically proficient stake-holder this would be difficult. It sounds great for the devs and early stake-holders to stake-mine away at credits, but it seems like a significant entry barrier to new users. The stake-mining and voting system is what I found most attractive about Decred, but if it is inaccessible to many stakeholders what is the point? I believe making the stake-mining system more accessible would both greatly increase the adoption rate of Decred, as well as increasing the proportion of units being used to vote. More credits stake-mining means less credits for sale on the market, increasing price appreciation and decreasing price volatility during downturns. May I suggest some sort of newbie-friendly GUI to the stake-mining and pool system? I am happy to help brainstorm, implement, and test.
@solar This thread is quite old. It is possible to stake via a GUI now. Please see https://docs.decred.org/mining/proof-of-stake/ for more details. More specifically, this is where the GUI instructions for Paymetheus begin.
@davecgh Fantastic! Very quick response too. Will investigate and attempt to start stake-mining 2 tickets through a pool soon. Where would be the best way to voice my feedback on the process? Hope the past week of volatility in the market has treated you well. Looking forward to working with you more in the future.
Here on the forums is fine. Typically the highest amount of traffic is on slack currently, but honestly I prefer the forums since slack is an ephemeral platform and as such, useful information easily disappears from it.
Thank you. Will stick to the forum for now (haven't ever used slack, I am a bit of a luddite). I have tried the IRC but it seemed pretty slow. I would like to help with improving the user-accessibility of the Decred system, how would the best way to go about that be?
Hi, guys, a couple of days i bougth a ticket, now it's "owned live tickets", but can i return it to my wallet?
