I have created an app for Android - Decred Widgets. Simply install the app and the widgets will become available for you to place on your homescreen.

Download it from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamieholdstock.dcrwidgets

    See the source: https://github.com/jholdstock/DecredWidgets

The widgets update every 30 minutes, or you can press on them to update them on demand. Battery and storage consumption are both kept to an absolute minimum.

    Thanks to:
    - @Dyrk for providing the DCR stats API
    - The Decred developers who helped me get this onto the Play Store.

    hey @Jamie Holdstock!
Great job, I'm going to test it now on my phone! I have a few new APIs for you:

    1. You can now fetch the price also here:
    https://dcrstats.com/api/v1/price

DCR-USD, DCR-BTC, BTC-USD and datetime of the last update.

    2. There is a new parameter "prev_day" in the stats output. I've added it just today, it shows % of price change ( so "prev_day: -4.78" means: -4.78% ):
    https://dcrstats.com/api/v1/get_stats

    3. "btc_volume" is only Poloniex volume right now, but later this month I'll deploy an update to calculate total DCR volume on all exchanges.

Glad to see this. Here is a bug. It does not display correctly when using an alternate grid size on the home screen.

I'll have a look around the new APIs @Dyrk - keep up the good work :)

Thanks @raedah - Could you please send me a screenshot of the problem?

On the Android emulator I saw some issues which I thought I had fixed, and then on my Samsung S7 it looks perfect on either a 4x4 or 5x5 grid. I guess some more work on the responsiveness is needed.

    Thanks for the screenshot @raedah

I have just published version 0.4 which changes the appearance slightly and allows the widgets to be resized. Hopefully this will help with the issue you saw.

    Request for feedback!

Can somebody experience with PoW mining please validate that the stats in the PoW widget are actually what you need to see? I have no experience with PoW and have just guessed that difficulty and network hashrate are the key stats.

    bump :)

Decred has had a lot of new users recently - I would just like to highlight this Android app to easily keep an eye on the price of Decred on your device's homescreen.

Cool, don't think I noticed this when you first put it out. I wonder if I should add some of those other items to the irc price bot.

Love this app, can we get some more updates to it? I would like a bigger font like https://github.com/hwki/SimpleBitcoinWidget uses. Id also like to have the low and high next price available. Maybe break into separate widgets or allow more customization checkboxes to decide which numbers to enable. Can you put the source on github?

    Glad you appreciate it @raedah.

The source is here and contributions would be more than welcome.

I'm afraid I have very little time I can dedicate to developing this project at the moment, however I will definitely make time to review changes if someone puts in a PR.

So finally, got around to installing this. Very cool. Couple minor issues on my pixel. I'll open github issues for them.
