Hi, am a newbie in coins and just testing out. Trying to get along with mining as long as it is kind of profitable with good new coins after the bitcoin hype. Am from Germany, area Cologne. Andre Happy trading and mining.
Welcome to the community @legalmat The Decred community appreciate people contributing with their mining power to secure the network
Hi @MTraveller , thanks a lot. Maybe someone can help with my issues. I am having a hard time to get a miner to run on linux. Started to try with a CPU miner, when compiled the miner ought have worked, but there was no single kh/s received at any pool. Now am trying with a GPU miner, first on AMD and then on a Nvidia. Its the hardest coin to mine so far for me, from missing tutorials, that show clear steps and what the developers of the forks want to be done. I am thank ful for any hint. And would like to contribute to this community long time. Andre
I tried to find my ways not only through this forum or the docs. It is a lack of clear tutorials existing. But after the cpu miner was running and only the pools didnt receive any, I didnt find any answers anywhere. Also, when I tried direct connections or stratum, many questions left on the table, why it couldnt work. I want to run the CPUminers aside on servers, that idle the Cpu to a 90% anyway, so yes, even ten coins a year are worth the electricity, I think, cause the money anyway is spent, or not? But thanks for the heads up. Now I tried to find solutions why I cannot start the miners on GPU also. Will open up a threads, if I cant get any further with your hints. Thanks again
CPU mining is just not going to work. The difficulty is too high. As for GPU mining there are several POW tutorials on this forum. Search for POW or you can invest some money and try POS. Take your pick. If you really cant get it going post up your miner specs and some output of the errors you are seeing and somebody will get you going. It is not hard to do even for linux.
Ok, that it might not show any traffic/ hasrate in the pool I already thought because of difficulty, that it doesnt work. Yes, I will be on the hunt for solutions. Thanks.
Try with this if you're using cgminer. If using another miner just replace cgminer.exe with your miner. cgminer.exe --blake256 -o stratum+tcp://dcr.suprnova.cc:2254 -u username.worker-name -p worker-pass --no-adl --no-submit-stale --scan-time 2 --queue 0
Hi all. Thanks for the welcome. Today I am going to try to let ANY gpu miner run on my LINUX home machine. Wish good luck.
I am using linux, and that is right now the issue, to get a miner (I tried two versions ov ccminer) to run here on home machine for testing.
I hope claymore might be another option. WIll take a look. The problem for me was the compiling of the programm when it was forked.
I think claymore is for windows only I may be wrong tho. Since @Ayush use linux aswell, try asking him for help, I'm sure he'll help you out.
I think it works well for linux, with AMD, while not for me. But now on server I anway want to use Nvidia. But its always this compiling problem. Which doesnt really has to do much with cards. Here I am now: https://forum.decred.org/threads/cc...r-for-nvidia-gpu-is-out.648/page-3#post-21160
