I know this question is kinda too early to ask, but that didn't stop me I guess. So curious to fast-forward myself to Launch Day and how it would look like.

I am planning to spend around 100$(200Dcr@0.5$).Also, people in Airdrop registration would be receiving a minimum of 184 Decreds.(84000Dcr/Max 5000 Airdrop registrations).

    Further questions:
Will initial price decrease or increase when lauched on exchanges?
Will the price increase 10-300 times like Litecoin (328times,exactly)did back in 2013 or will it plunge to a few cents?
Launch of Decred is strategically placed in the year's beginning, how will it end the year?
On which exchanges we can get our hands on Decred?
Will you sell Decreds immediately or hold long enough?
How will the Bitcoin community react to Decred?
Will Bitcoin's halving Block reward this year impact all altcoins?
Is Decred the holy grail of cryptocurrency, everyone has been looking for?

Tons of cryptocurrencies are being launched these days and most are failing, sadly. I believe strongly in Decred and what it could offer.

Decred's name is a little unique in a way that it doesn't contain 'coin' in its name like most other coins do.

    Fingers crossed;).

    Decred is getting much attention.
I suggest to hold them for a couple of years. It's non sense spent 100 usd and sell them maybe for 200 if price reah 1 dollar.
Wait at least 1-2 years and follow decred development. Remember that bitcoin and litecoin took years to encrease price.

Yeah, but I guess this year,2016, is the most important year for cryptocoins. Startups are trying to replicate the advantages of cryptocurrencies with Fiat currencies. For Ex.Lookup 'Transfer wise',a great start-up.
If people could replicate the advantages of Bitcoin and others like zero fees, instant transaction, anonymity and security with Fiat, it's bad news then.
This year is the most exciting scenario for digital coins.

Honestly I hope you cant buy any Decred on or shortly after launch day. That means someone basically just joined the airdrop to just sell right away. If that happened I dont know if it would be bad or good decred (its a tx afterall).

I completely agree. Selling on day one is like going against the principles of decred.

But at least we eliminate the rotten apples!

I hope the only coin in sell wall are those of the main dev to finance the project.

Patience...Would you rather get your coins rushed out and be useless by being pushy or have a high quality sustainable coin with good growth. Quality takes time. I'm sure the devs are working around the clock to launch the project (thanks guys), and will be released when ready.
Are you waiting for them so you can sell them? Other than that purpose, there is no reason to rush them. They are just as anxious to launch as you are to receive your coins, probably moreso, as they have been working on it long before you ever heard of it.
Take your time, guys. We want to be successful long-term, not just for a week.

    Whatever I want.
Buy, sell, I'm the guy with the shop. When I first started studying Bitcoin, the conclusion I came to was that the most effective way to accumulate Bitcoins was to accept them as payment for products and services. You can speculate, sure, but that's a minefield of regulations and fees. You can mine, but you'll spend all your time and resources just to stay ahead of the curve. As someone said back in 2013, the guys who made the most money during the gold rush were the ones selling picks.

Besides, if cryptocurrencies really are going to catch on, it's going to be because they're accepted as currencies. If all we ever do with cryptocoins is buy and sell them for differing amounts of money, they'll always be niche.

I will begin accepting payments in Decred on launch day.

My guess from reading this forum here: Lots of people who desperately look to make 50 bucks by immediately dumping their airdrop (believing that USD 0.49 rate is somehow God-given) :p

I think that most responsible Decreders will hold. Some will dump but it still will be a rare coin until the miners get working! Look for a BIG start, a slow down and then a steady rise to the moon.

Sorry, there won't be any coins at all "until the miners get working". Airdrop isn't something happening before the Genesis block will be mined.

Sure, start, dump and then price slowly rise over months, years.
Give proper time to decred to encrease value.
    No rush.

I think there will be enough buy power to don't let the coin fall bellow 0,49$. Also will be important which exchanges will list it first. I would prefer Bittrex and Poloniex. Yobit and c-cex are low volume exchanges, and there the prices can be easily influenced.
On the other hand, i think we won't have to wait months or years for a price increase. If you think this because bitcoin did so, you also have to take in consideration that cryptos are more spread now and much more people are in this industry, then back in 2011-2012-2013

All that I know right now is that it will be pretty fun to watch the initial value fluctuations as about at least 20 or so people sell to make a quick dollar, and those actually interested buy as much as they can in hopes that the coins' price will increase rapidly. I'm personally going to spend no more than $50, mine a little here and there, accept Decred for payment like ClokworkGremlin, and be patient. I usually purchase Cryptos in increments of $50, but if the prices do drop to $.01 like some speculate, I may have to splurge a bit.
