Hard dates are nice, it helps with scheduling. Hopefully I'll be busy the weekend before the launch. And maybe the weekend after it as well.
Is it a safe exchange place ? The trade volumes looks pretty low, how to be sure this exhange is not a scam ?
This is a great window because it will give a large amount of time for us that have several systems that need setup and if any strange bugs popup there is still time to report it and be patched before going live.
I am so excited about this 2! First coin i will invest for a long time. i used bleutrade more than a year ago or so a bit without any problems. however after the cryptsy desaster i only use bittrex, btc-e.com or c-cex.com (if i have to). so i will wait to buy until decred is on one of these. Good luck with the project!
I asked in bittrex slack and they said that it would take them more than a day to do internal tests & verification of source code. Can someone from official team contact them to discuss further? @_ingsoc @davecgh EDIT: also now that we know there is only a week to mainnet launch, is there any chance of having a ccminer for nvidia miners?
no i mean ccminer already has blake 256 implemented, someone just needs to make changes to accomodate decred block header.
Still is a small exchange, but I'm sure the people involved are reliable. There is no negative report against this exchange since it was created more than a year. While it is the only exchange with decred, all trading volume of that currency will be there. We don't know how long it will take to bittrex or poloniex add decred. C-CEX as yobit are known for involvement in scams ico, disappearance of coins, etc.
I feel that using established exchanges is probably the only way to go in today's scenario (even that is risky, e.g. Mt. Gox or Cryptsy). My guess is something like btc-e will have to take Decred up before I can trade.
Will you provide support for stratum mining for pools? This would be very beneficial for the mining ecosystem, since stratum mining is widely deployed and supported much better than getwork. It is also much more efficient (that was the primary reason for stratum in the first place). Thanks!
There is no reason for Decred to support the stratum protocol. That protocol is designed to get around the limit of Bitcoin's 80 byte block header. That header design allows only 3.71e-66% of the allowable search space for work to be sampled. Stratum solves the workspace issue by allowing the miner to modify the coinbase and recalculate the merkle root. Doing so requires the miner to calculate a large amount of extra, wasted work and use more network bandwidth than would otherwise be required. The Decred header design allows for full searchable range of the work space without modification. A single getwork from the Decred daemon is sufficient to supply tens of millions of devices with work. It does this with lower bandwidth requirements than stratum.
also c-cex is a good exchange the site owner is a good friend and there hasnt been any security issues since that one time furthermore if people want icos there is no prob with cex giving them
