no setting --ticketmaxprice greater than 0 on the command-line will auto purchase set it to zero to turn it off.

Current ticket price is 6.07 as mentioned above.

Bought 14 tickers 3 days ago and have only voted once which is cool, looks like im in this one for the long haul lol. Have good hopes about it though.

Fee Rate of 0.16891891891891891 DCR per kB when I check ticket on block explorer. I have tried to dcrctl --wallet settxfee x.xx (tried 0.05, 0.02), and I get "true" but it doesn't seem to lower the fee. This fee seems outrageous. Will I make any money by staking at this fee?

Wish I had started at $2...

My one vote that got used in a block gave me my original 2dcr back plus basically another 1.8. Since the price per ticket just shot up to 7ish the return will be slower unless you have a lot of coins.

Either way at least at the current price 1.8 is a pretty good return but of course the more coins you have the more votes you have out there able to be selected.

Hopefully the diff will drop a bit or stay around 10 at the worst, but probably going to go higher before it drops back down.

Thanks for the details, Cody. That will be a pretty good return even with my higher fee and purchase price. I don't think mine have yet had a chance to vote (just over a day since first buy).

currently PoS pool size is higher than 40960 so it should keep increasing.

Just to be pedantic rewards will decrease every 6140 blocks by 100/101 or 0.99009900990099 % irrespective of difficulty. Although difficulty is supposed to go up/down with popularity & price.

Mempool, is the current number of tickets, that are waiting to get submittet into a block for "maturity", as far as I understand it.
    - Basicly. You buy 5 tickets. They get thrown in the mempool. <- Miners choose up to 20 tickets from mempool, to insert into the next block. And once that is done, your ticket is maturing for the next 256 blocks.

^ If the number of tickets in mempool is high, it's likely that the ticket price will increase at the next adjustment. <- Since only up to 20 tickets can be included in a single block, at a time.

    - Hope that clarifies a little. Someone else, might have a better way at formulating an explatation for it though.
