I've been doing the hot wallet/cold wallet thing for stake mining for some time with the hot wallet being on an AWS VM. I'd like to move to using a stake pool as that would be lower cost. My question is how do I migrate to using a stake pool?

Obviously I can start purchasing new tickets using the pool address and fee settings but I'm wondering if there is any way to move voting for already purchased tickets to a stake pool or do I have to just wait out the four months before I can kill off my hot wallet VPS?

Afaik you have to vote with the AWS machine until all those tickets did their vote.

Stakepool ticket balance will be seen under your 'imported' account, the balances of your solostaking are under the 'default' account. So the only chance to speed up the progress is by keeping an eye on your 'locked' balances:

dcrctl --wallet getbalance '*' 0 locked
    ^^
Shows all your locked balance (solostake and poolstake)

dcrctl --wallet getbalance default 0 locked
    ^^
Shows only the balance that is locked with your solo stake mining (solostake only)
