We are going to update the copay wallet service this week. Additional details will follow on what this means for you. So, stay tuned!
The web wallet service at https://wallet.decred.org will be upgraded. It should be seamless. However, in case of any issues, users are expected to have their wallet generation seed in case a new wallet needs to be recreated. If the user does not have his or her wallet generation seed, he or she should create a new wallet, save the new wallet generation seed, and transfer funds from the old wallet to the new wallet.
So to remind people how to see your seed wallet in copay: Click on the wallet you want to backup, click preferences button on main screen, click backup. It will show up there unless you previously requested it to be deleted. If that was the case, then you should follow @dhill suggestion of creating a new wallet, saving that seed and send funds to that one. From our extensive testing the seeds should not be necessary for upgrade, but we want to make sure people are prepared in case of emergency.
Fantastic! Any visibility as to when the wallet will be officially packaged and released as an Android app and/or as a Chrome app since it's based on Copay? Thanks for all the hard work you do.
Well I plan on adding ticket purchasing in the near future, then we can look into building the apps. From what I've played with, they have sort of built, but run into issues due to missing deps. Definitely in the works though.
