    Hello everyone,

Testnet is now live! Signed binaries are provided. 32 and 64-bit versions are supported for Windows, OS X, DragonflyBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD. You are encouraged to post any questions you have and/or issues you encounter in the newly opened Public Testnet Evaluation thread.

CGMiner has also been released as source code and signed binaries for convenience. There is a CGMiner Hardware Performance thread where you can post details about your hardware and the hashing speed you attain. This information is useful as it serves as a form of comparison and can be presented in one place at a later stage once enough statistical performance data are available.

New and updated documentation on the wiki include:
    New signed binaries include:
    • dcrd - the chain daemon
    • dcrwallet - the wallet daemon
    • dcrctl - the command line RPC tool
    • cgminer - cryptocurrency mining software
If any bugs are encountered when running the various binaries, please create an issue for them under the corresponding repository on the project's GitHub. In the event that no serious bugs are found during the next several days of testnet operation, the project will launch Decred mainnet one week from today on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016.

Do note that this phase is mostly geared toward technical users, but you are welcome to participate if you are curious. Having said that, explore, enjoy yourself, and come break stuff!

    Sincerely,
    Decred Project

Note: If you run into trouble early on, consult the Quick Reference page on the wiki to get started. In addition, if you need testnet decred, post your address in the Testnet Faucet thread.

Of course you do this while I am out of town on a job. With crappy WiFi so I can not even VPN back to my power desktop to test. Sigh... It is because you secretly hate me, right? ;)

    Congrats on the release!

Great! Is binaries for Linux coming, or do we have to compile those ourselves?

Edit: I see that there are Linux binaries on the github for 386, AMD64 and for ARM, sorry for the confusion, but it was missing in the first text. ;)

I found some errors / inconsistencies in the wiki page about solo stake. What is going to be the policy on the wiki? If I wanted to contribute, is it something that I can do right now or should I just report issues here?
