Since I had a time figuring out how to use it (no, I didn't look far for documentation, so it may be just me) - here's a starter for people wanting to try it:

    Starting the daemon:
    Code:
    ./dcrd --simnet --rpcuser=Slut --rpcpass=x --notls

The "simnet" option puts it on testnet - I tried both "simnet" and "testnet" and didn't see a difference - "rpcuser" & "rpcpass" the same as Bitcoin clones, except "rpcpass" is called "rpcpassword" there, and "notls" is used so that you don't have to generate a TLS key to communicate via RPC.

    Communicating with it:
    Code:
    ./dcrctl -u Slut -P x --notls --simnet ping

That pings the server, using the previously set user/pass, and ensuring it doesn't look for a TLS cert.

More when I figure out the config file format.

I find I get this, using the dcrd invocation I posted earlier:

    Code:
    ./dcrctl -u Slut -P x --notls --simnet getnewaddress
-1: This implementation does not implement wallet commands

You need to specify --wallet for wallet commands. For blockchainish commands you omit --wallet.

A necessity of having the wallet/blockchain separated as much as they are.

    I'm testing with R9 290 reference model, and I'm getting about 1.65 GH/s.

    Whatever I want.
Mine too, I was only getting about 80Mhash/s, but on the other hand my card is super weak.

Am I correct if I specify my wallet for mining with decd --miningaddr=TsXJFVrvTXizqe6DopRPRBcYpYdFUu9XBut ?

@Lee Sharp I don't think so, but if it has, Decred is going to be HUGE!

I though so too but the stats show that it's would not be caused by just decred as all there servers are effected.
a lot of devs taht use github are calling this a snow day.

I'm not doubting you, but is there a reason you can't simply activate whatever internal flag "--wallet" activates upon being asked to perform a command that requires it?

Be wary of running someone's random executeable. I'd highly recommend waiting until github is back up or at least getting _ingsoc to provide the signatures to verify the binaries.

I'll have to doublecheck that there's no overlap but yes it should be possible to streamline things so wallet commands get auto-routed to dcrwallet's RPC port so you don't need to specify.
