    Hello, I'm happy to be a part of this community.

    My question: What is the meaning behind the word Decred? I can think of a lot of things it might stand for, but I'd rather get the official answer.

    It's best to think of it as a made up (invented) word. Think of it like Canon, Skype, Ikea, Lego, Verizon, etc.
