Hey; Have a DCR web wallet and an Automated/Manual payout to the address, when I came home after a long travel and tried to enter the webwallet, but informed a new is being created. I created a new webwallet and tried to transfer a large sum to the DCR Web wallet (Yesturday) but accidentally sent it to the old address. CAN'T Find the Back UP Passphrase. I know it states in the terms and condition if loose the back up passphrase the DCR are inaccessible, nut have to ask Any solutions? Regards;
Did you make a backup? In case you did it's a case of retracing your steps like finding a set of lost car keys. If you never printed/wrote down etc the passphrase you are in trouble. Maybe someone here has more experience with the web wallet? Are the any cached files or some such???
I usually do but can't seem to find it. The web wallet was there after a few months it was not. Not sure way.
The webwallet is kept entirely in the browsers localStorage. So it is always possible that a browser updated or history clearing can delete it. This is why the seed is so important. Depending on the browser it might be possible to get it back if you have a backup of the filesystem where the browser stores data. firefox stores in ~/.mozilla on unix and ~/Libarary/Application Support//Firefox on osx. No idea about windows or other browsers.
decred has 33 word seeds, so no idea what your 15 word seed could be. With an old firefox directory, you could something like 1. make a copy of your current firefox directory 2. make a copy of the old directory you have 3. start firefox up pointing to the COPY of the old directory 4. see if the webwallet loads on that 5. IF that works, send funds to an address that you know you have the seed for. I can't promise that will work, but you could try.
