    Hi,
I have a question regarding this message: "21:16:14 2016-02-22 [INF] WLLT: Revoked missed ticket b85789683146c1e8767f71c6651cb711c0d3022694fa6ed6ff4ae72a000a452f (tx hash: d0b25d10fe127e14499682de1b1505849c844411e89ae2d5be5d6e6a9b1ad3a2)"

because before I got that I had this: "21:13:28 2016-02-22 [INF] WLLT: Voted on block 00000000000010af88f541b8ddfaffde6ceff24f0db545f57c58ef6949cbcfa1 (height 4305) using ticket b85789683146c1e8767f71c6651cb711c0d3022694fa6ed6ff4ae72a000a452f (vote hash: a14715e8afefc48bdfe89980140f6c644a01a1f423b2510ec40bafde10b2a852)"

Can anyone explain what happened? To be clear I have my wallet turned on and unlocked all the time so I couldn't miss it or I think I couldn't :/.

    Whatever I want.
I had one of those happen. Not sure what caused it, but it should just mean you get those credits returned with no stake bonus.

When I checked yesterday, I believe the blockchain only had a dozen or so revoked tickets after more than 100 blocks averaging an estimated 400 accepted votes (3- and 4- vote blocks are more common than I would have expected. I think the final coin total will turn out closer to 19.75M, though it's probable none of us will be alive when the PoW reward hits 0)

All of the other tickets I've had selected have been successfully voted, and the credits are awaiting confirmation, the first of which should occur around 1AM my time.

Looking back at the blockchain it feels like there is a particular miner missing votes. Perhaps a bad network connection.

I had a ticket revoked yesterday, it was my first ticket that voted on a block. Was your revoked ticket the first ticket that voted? If there is some kind of similarity to revoked tickets, this might be a bug. @davecgh can you explain why a ticket will be revoked? Its happening right in the next block that the ticket voted on. There was no chain reorg, wallet was online, fee was normal @ 0.05 and everything was setup correctly but still the ticket got revoked.

The revoked ticket was my first one. I was running the initial release, updated to chain server 0.0.2 and wallet 0.0.3 this morning.

A ticket is automatically revoked after the block it was selected to vote on if it wasn't included in that block for whatever reason. This is done so you get your original coins back ASAP. There are various possibilities for why it wasn't included in a block:

    1) The miner is not well connected and never saw the vote
    2) The miner chose not to include it for whatever reason (this should be really rare because they lose money for doing it)
    3) The miner is a pool that is buggy (This is probably what happened to you and I'll say why in a moment)
    4) The ticket winner's wallet wasn't online or didn't have --enablestakemining so it didn't vote
    5) The ticket winner's wallet is not well connected causing the vote to never be seen by the miner

As I indicated, I believe there is at least one pool right now that is not properly including votes likely due to a bug on their end or simply not knowing any better. I say this because I have personally seen several blocks where my nodes saw all 5 votes show up (via debug logging) yet the final block did not include all 5 which means the miner didn't include them for some reason. It is possible they just aren't well connected, but I suspect they have a bug in their pool software or how they're interfacing with dcrd somehow.

In particular, I'm referring to coinmine.pl. If you look at the number of votes included in that pool's found blocks, it is consistently not including all of the votes. That is not the case for other pools such as suprnova. I saw it mentioned that coinmine.pl has been e-mailed about the issue, but to my knowledge has not yet responded.

In regards to connectivity, I saw a pull request go in recently that will consequently be in the next release that increases the number of nodes to connect to in order to get improve overall network connectivity, but I really don't think that's the issue because, as I've said, I'm consistently seeing 5 votes show up instantly for almost every block on a node I setup for test purposes that is intentionally not accepting incoming connections and is only connected to 3 peers.

In short, this doesn't appear to be a bug in software, rather it is more likely a bug in one or more of the pools and/or they are poorly connected.

Just missed another one. Every revoked ticket costs us 0.075 DCR in fee. I hope they fix it asap. dave can you explain why default fee are set so high when blocks are literally empty? Also is there a way to separately set sstx & normal tx fee. I ask this because there is a lot of competition sstx & voting but no competition for normal tx.

The fee was lowered to 0.01 Coin/KB on master about a week ago. There will be a new version of the daemon and wallet soon, with new RPC calls that allow you to manually adjust the fees.

When the update is out, you will be able to set the fee manually, purchase tickets with that fee, then adjust it again when making other transactions.

Any way that we can vote no on blocks from this pool until they have shown that they have fixed their issues?

That is not yet possible and potentially bad for ecosystem. You can either vote yes or no to all blocks. Selective voting is not possible for a particular pool yet.

Sam is correct there isn't a way to vote on a specific pool yet, but I doubt it will be an issue for very long given they are missing out on subsidy and as a result are highly incentivized to get it fixed ASAP.

EDIT: Actually, I see a message was just posted that they believe it has been fixed.

I've had a few Votes revoked.. Do I need to just wait for the tickets to expire or can I do something else to make the funds available again?

My funds from revoked tickets are available and wallet bought tickets as soon as fund return tx was confirmed. Wallet is counting those in spendable balance. My tickets are revoked too, i had 3 of 7 tickets revoked. so chances of successful voting are approx 50% only.

EDIT: Just to make it clear, tickets were purchased from old funds but balancetomaintain or spendable funds were approx same, so i deduced that returned funds are now spendable.

Its like a lottery so they might vote anytime between today & next few weeks. To have higher chance of voting you have to buy more tickets.
