if i had 1k decred and i want to use them all for the pos system how much i would earn in the time they ar elocked?

i must assume that the more decred are used for pos the more decred i need to maintain the same earning, this is correct?

    Whatever I want.
At current price (~8-14 decred/ticket), they could buy around 100 tickets, for an estimated return of about 180 credits.

1000 credits / ~10 credits per ticket = 100 tickets in the ticket pool.
100 tickets in the ticket pool * ~1.8 credits reward per ticket = 180 credits reward for 1k decred spent on tickets. Anything more precise than that cannot be estimated due to the variability of the system.

"credits" is the generic term I use for Decred(rumored to stand for "Decentralized Credit"). I'm trying to get it to catch on, but so far I think I'm the only person who uses it. Nobody else seems to have trouble understanding, though.

ah didn't know that decred = decentralized ticket, i was assuming that was the actual name of the coin

in what time frame one might earn those 180? and is this amount fixed? if i throw 1k decred in 2017 for example, does i earn always 180?

If you look at dcrstats.com and average the price of stakes over 1 month you could get a good cost average of what really happened. Then as above the reward, 1.853dcr, is static for several weeks. It then drops minimally when the block reward changes. 10dcr is probably a good average. The above example is realistic.
The time frame for the 180dcr return is about 28 days. I have stake voted 168 times since 08FEB16 for a reward return of 312.415dcr.

so if i have 100 decred i can expect 18 decred per month from staking? this is really profitable, more than mining, why people are dumping then?

Dont say that ever again! Do you want everyone to PoS?!? The PoS mafia is listening, everywhere...

PoW miners have much higher costs to get DCR. They also get 60% of each block reward. PoS miners only get 30% / 3-5 voters / block. Electricity is not cheap for most people. PoW are selling to cover that cost most likely. PoS costs are minimal.

Mining is actually more profitable, but has a higher buy-in cost.
Since sarcasm transmits poorly over machine-translated text, I'd like to point out I'm about 98.5% sure mugsy is joking here.

The more dcr put in to PoS will cause the stake ticket price to rise, yes. There is a limited number, 40960, of stake votes hard coded as an ideal amount. There can be more or less than that number at any given time. Anything above that and the price rises. Anything below and it falls. Although this is not the exact behavior we have seen that is the idea.

Yup... higher demand = more tickets will be bought = higher ticket price. :p
Which will eventually happen once there are more coins in circulation.
Till then, buy 'em while they are still cheap. :D

i prefer to mine it's more profitable than buying

with one rig of six gpu you can still do 12 coins a day or more, not bad

With my staked tickets I vote about 6 times per day on average. I make 11dcr per day for almost zero electricity expense on my $35 RPi2.

wait how a day? your funds are locked after you buy the ticket, can you use those locked funds for buying again and again?

Funds are locked when you buy a ticket. Once that ticket expires, the funds are unlocked after 256 blocks.

Did you think we were spending 10 DCR to get a 1.8 DCR reward without also getting the original 10 DCR back?

no because it would be pointless, but he said that he buy ticket 6 times each day(so 50-60 decred per day locked), so unless he his sitting on 1.5k decred i can't see how this is possible, since they are unlocked after 28 days

He/she said he votes 6 times per day, not buys 6 per day. Early on, as the ticket pool was still reaching the 40960 ticket target, ticket price was 2 DCR. Assuming drunkenmugsy holds a lot of those cheap tickets, unless he/she is mining or buying on exchanges, he/she will not be able to maintain the same number of tickets as those cheap tickets get voted given a ~10 DCR ticket price.

Oh, Mugsy(among a rather large number of other people) is totally sitting on 1.5k+ DCR. He hit the exchanges and started up selling goods right at launch(Commonly referred to as "wise investing").
    Also,
    This.
