I want to see if i can get some help with setting up Decred Wallet or find the thread for people struggling like I am. I am Linux 64 and also tried Wine with Windows.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong but would like to see if I can get the proper documentation or steered in right direction so I can get over this hump. Thanks.
How long should it take to set up the wallet?

Setting up wallet in windows won't take long.. You just have to take a look at the Sticky threads for help...

I run multiple full nodes on Ubuntu 14.04 x64 systems and I'm by no means an expert.
The setup process is very simple. Please clarify what it is you're struggling with so that we might help.

Essentially all you need to do is download the binary files using wget, extract those files, move them to a directory of your choosing, run dcrd and allow it to fully synchronize with the Decred blockchain, and run dcrwallet with the argument "--create" to create a new wallet.

You will be prompted to input a private passphrase, a public passphrase (optional), and a wallet seed if you happen to have one already.

There are quite a few guides that have already been written on this subject if you search around the forums. Any specific questions you have to ask, you're welcome to, but please try to seek out these resources for yourself instead of being coddled to them.

@Nihilix thanks. I am not so much struggling as much as starting from scratch. I set up the wallet successfully in terminal in linux. I got that seed saved, etc. That's as far as I made it there until I ran into problems when I tried adding the 3 lines of code in editor, I ran into some error messages. So I started thinking I'd look at Windows (in Linux) and use Wine. So I have 2 options I'd prefer to use Linux but I'd start over if I have to as there are no coins there, and would start over rather than struggle with seeds, passphrases, etc. OK I'm going to start over. Do you think I should go Linux (I don't have microsoft windows as OS).
Where I am struggling is the commands. The instructions give code, but not provided are the commands and I am struggling with that given the error messages from terminal.
The Github was confusing for me as it just has latest release and then just has a laundry list of downloads. I'm just now going to take my time trying to set up as there is no rush but just want to get the darn thing set up to stake. That's ultimately what I am trying to do and I don't think I can do that with the Windows GUI wallet? Am I correct that it is not possible to stake mine with the Windows version GUI wallet? Paymetheus? Sorry I'm new to Decred.

So you have just removed them? As good as the mud is out of your home? For instance, when I need cleaning or laundry, I ask professionals like https://www.emop.co.uk/camden-cleaner to do it for me. And everything works as they promised.
