there is no way to retrieve the password, but you can start over. This is why we have testnet so that you don't make same mistake on mainnet & loose all your coins. Be sure to remember your passwords from now on.

hmm i am not sure what is happening here. Are you sure you are running just one instance of both dcrd & dcrwallet? Just try stopping current instances and closing all window. then run them again in new windows.

i haven't seen anyone else requiring a full reboot. May be it is specific to your case. Anyways just do report this to devs with exactly what you did when it hung up on you.

Thanks to the italian translated guide of @Blizzy, i'm up and running....testnet address, wallet & miner, everything looks working fine.
Now i'm trying to test mining on Suprnova pool, but after i launch cgminer, nothing happen....the miner is stuck on launch screen...
Bat file seems edited according my params of the pool, maybe i'm missing something? I have to run the daemon/wallet first on my computer? (think of no)
    Thanks for helping ;)

EDIT: After checking again pool settings, i changed bat file as:
cgminer --blake256 -o http://dcr.suprnova.cc:9110 -u myworker -p mypass (not stratum+tcp as reported yesterday on sprnova pool)
    Hope this will help :)

Unfortunately my GPU looks not strong enought to take out something decent from the pool, so i think the only way to have some Decred is to buy on exchange.
About the guide, don't kow if is the translation of @anondran tuts, but helped me a lot!

If you can't remember your wallet passphrase, go to C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Local and delete Dcrwallet folder, this will destroy your previously created wallet, so be careful and sure of what your are doing, you will loose all your coins doing so !

For reference, it doesn't really matter if you loaded your airdrop seed. Testnet uses different addresses and has a different genesis block. The seed just represents a really large cryptographically random number. The address format includes additional data in order to distinguish the network and underlying crypto algorithms involved.

The wallet also maintains a totally separate database for testnet versus mainnet. In other words, the same seed could be used for both with no issues.

    Thank you for clarity,
So? if you loaded the seed and deleted the db files, you could just reinstall with the seed again and be right as rain?
