You, sir, are brilliant. Thanks so very much for your help. Completely new to mining, although I've been trading for quite some time, and your guide was gold.

    Cheers!

I vaguely understand the instruction on solo mining. So the only way to specify an exchange wallet is to mine on a pool?

First of all this guide is for testnet. Mainnet guide is linked at very top in the first post.
Now, I am not sure if address should belong to local wallet or not, but i think you can use the address from exchange with the flag --miningaddr. I hope someone can clarify this. @davecgh.

Free advice: I would suggest against mining directly to an exchange address, most exchanges don't like that.

@sambiohazard Thanks for your reply. So it is possible to send mined decred to an exchange directly on solo mining instead of creating a local wallet? That's a good option though. At this diif level solo mining or pool is more profitable? above 10gh/s is my hashrate at full.

Solo mining depends a lot on luck, i am not sure what % of n/w hashrate would make it profitable for you to go solo. there were some good discussions and formulas discussed in cgminer thread about this. Try searching or asking there. I prefer pool mining as it gives you more stable income/less variance. Again, I am not sure about using exchange address with --miningaddr flag, you should wait until someone else confirms that.
