I came across that a few days ago; it's a very interesting read. I'm working on some documentation to explain the more technical concepts behind Decred to laypeople, and that article was a huge help in that. It really lays out where Bitcoin's troubles emanate from, and once you understand that, Decred's PoW/PoS and other safeguards against actual and de facto centralization make so much sense.
Wow I had not delved that deeply in to bitcoin recently. I did not realize how broken it truly was/is. Good read. tl:dr - Good example of how a minority party with too much power fucking ruins everything.
Keep in mind that the author is totally biased as well. Not saying he is wrong, but he is far from impartial...
Oh I agree there is bias, righteous logical bias. My favorite kind! I had heard bits and pieces of this myself in other formats. What he wrote brings that info together nicely.
Old news and third post on the same topic: https://forum.decred.org/threads/the-resolution-of-the-bitcoin-experiment.198/#post-2593 https://forum.decred.org/threads/mike-hearn-left-bitcoin.192/
I'm happy to have it go up in as many places as want to publish it. The more people who read it and realize that digital currency isn't prohibitively complex and has unique advantages that are native to its electronic nature, the better. I'd want to check to be sure they wouldn't mind, though.
Yes, but that's the intention. Disclosure for those who really do not know anything about programming, more decred want to buy or sell.
