Dear Decreders, There is this new coin which is very similar to Decred. It's called Cygnus. Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1374941.0 What are your thoughts on altcoins that also use hybrid PoW/PoS? How are we different?
Almost every other proof of work/proof of stake coin is based on the PeerCoin or DASH codebase, which implement different systems.
Cygnus looks similar to Decred in theory but rockier in implementation. You'll note that a lot of their stuff(block explorer, mining and stake pools) is 3rd-party and they don't even have their own in-house forum. Executable files are hosted on MEGA, and I'm not sure where the source files come from, but it's probably another Novacoin fork.
Its also not PoW/PoS hybrid as in forever. Its like most other coins, instamined in first 32K blocks and then PoS. Also i am not sure if voting is on blockchain or not.
