    Hi,

a few days ago I sent someone a small amount of DCR (about 0.035 DCR). Not I see in my account history that 0.99477571 DCR were sent. I placed the transaction with my wallet under wallet.decred.org.

What did I do wrong? Why did that happen? I NEVER entered such a huge amount!

    Best regard,
    Roger

Can you share the transaction ID so we can look into it? Also, what was your transaction fee set to?

Is that the ID you are looking for?

    3bc705cf987b8237c97f874fffcf1ddb36be6d3361b457dc4b356ae46d79363f

    Fee was set to standard...

And that was the original mail on which I replied to send the money:

Thank you for using CoinPayments.net! To complete your checkout with <xxx>, send 0.10886000 DCR to Dsp5MB9FhKz9t23WLSefMKwNj1zjKRbDWNZ within 3 hours, 30 minutes (make sure you leave enough time to get 10 confirms before the time limit!).

Just googled a bit .. I think the problem was that the transaction was done by CoinPayments.net? Am I right?

Yes, that is the transaciton ID - thank you!

So they requested 0.10886 DCR, which is what you sent. If you expand the transaction details you can a bit more clearly.

When a transaction is generated, the wallet software looks inside the wallet at all the addresses it holds. It checks the balances of the individual addresses, then chooses the address that has the closest amount (but still over) to the amount you are trying to send. In this case, the address that fit the criteria was DsZGw9V6XpkLcJyPDVzw3nmwFzhm46EtQxt, and it had 0.99503171 DCR before the transaction. Before sending the transaction off, it creates two details about the transaction: the amount destined for the receiver, and the change that you will receive in return after the transaction is confirmed.

The recipient did in fact receive their 0.10886000 and you received 0.88591571 DCR back as change. You should be able to confirm that your balance only decreased by 0.10886 DCR after the transaction.
