That would be excellent, since that document is essentially static. There will be documentation and user guides developed as part of RFP-4 coming today - so those could benefit from translation as well when they're produced. But the Decred Constitution is absolutely the best candidate for translation. Let me know if you guys want wiki accounts as translation can happen directly on there. An extension is installed for it. Just PM me your e-mail and I'll get accounts sent out to that address (it's done that way to avoid vandalism for now).
Yes , i look wiki and it would be better for me to translate from wiki account! it s look very clear for me! i just pm my email and if undestood right you will set up wiki account for each one to avoid vandalism! Thanks Ingosoc
Hi to all the translators, guys there have been a lot of thread for help about simple things in broken English. If you guys can translate the guides or have technical knowhow to help such people in their native language, it will be very much appreciated. It is very hard to help someone with language barrier. I am assuming that they didn't get help in there native language section and thus have to resort asking questions in English. If some of you can come forward to help in this way, maybe we can assign you a different badge like "Tech Help(Language)" or "Volunteer(Language)" so that people know whom to ask before using english forum. Thanks. Any suggestions are welcome.
Yesterday I did the translation of the constitution of Decred. Today I will continue translating things.
If you have not already done it, can you take a look at pinned threads in all forums especially guides. Thanks for your service Also I was more interested in direct interaction with people asking question if anyone has that sort of time. Maybe a "Support(Language)" badge will be correct for such status.
I just went ahead and started. - No need for a badge, in order to do the translating anyway. ^ Started with the commitment, since I had a couple of minutes.
@_ingsoc I think @Freemind & @michael sørensen are doing some great work. Can we have a thread displaying their work alongwith their donation address? We can also add @tpruvot's & @Dyrk's work & donation address there, this way we can solve the problem of funding voluntary work as it will be visible while also following due process for RFPs and contracted work. I hope community will come together to fund such work and Official team can contribute what they can as a form of donation to kickstart things? I am donating what i can but its obviously not going to cover every worthy effort and absolutely not to full extent it deserves.
@_ingsoc @sambiohazard Hi there, The guide to mining and The Decred Constitution have been translated into French (by @Bill007 (I did the proof-reading and style adjustment for the Constitution)). Is there any intention to create a french version of the wiki for a later purpose (mass adoption)? Although I think most francophone visiting the forum have a decent level of English is there a need to translate other section of the wiki on the forum and if so which ones? Thank you for your time.
I prepared following list for @Freemind, You can use it as a starting point. Although direct support in native language is what is going to be most useful as obviously people are having difficulty following the guides and they will keep creating threads for every point they get stuck on. Hi here is a long list for you Feel free to do it at your own pace. Thanks for doing this, it will go a long way in helping the community. That is a good list to start with, @sambiohazard. - I'm in the middle of the constitution anyways. Just doing it on and off, when I have time and feel like it. ^ - Just bought a car, so I can teach myself how to drive. That takes up a bit of free time.
And btw. I suck at grammar. - So I wouldn't call it "great work", but I appreciate the thought, @sambiohazard.
Anyone who knows greek here? Please help this guy. thanks https://forum.decred.org/threads/how-buy-tickets-and-mining.1118/
I never imagined. That translating would be so dull, and tough. - Though, the Constitution is now done. - Danish is my native language. But even though I know the meaning of what it says in English. I still have to google, cuz I lack the words in Danish. ^ Then again. I learned English through games and online activities. While Danish was from public schools..
I know that avarage danish can speak very well and decent english. Some I think because of good public schools and some should be because of same language roots. But I could be wrong. Anyway, Copenhagen is very beautiful city and I hope I can soon visit there again. P.S. Carlsberg is also not bad, but crazy expensive...50 DKK for 0.4l...
