hey folks. i'm having a heck of a time trying to access my airdrop coins. i have my seed, and have carefully entered it with no line breaks etc. the wallet says "Could not access the wallet at the server. Please check: The password of the recovery phrase (if set) The derivation path The wallet service URL" Can someone advice what is the "derivation path" and "wallet service URL"? Do i need to include information in these fields?
First off, what are you using? The command line tool, paymetheus or decredition? It sounds to me like it couldn't connect to the wallet. If you're using the CLI tool, you need dcrd and dcrwallet running. If you're using paymetheus, it will take care of that but you'll need to wait until it finishes synching. If you're using decredition, I can't help you. In all cases, make sure you're running the latest version. If you're using a CLI version <0.5.0, you'll need to delete and download the block chain again.
Hmm.. not sure then. It seems to be working ok. Try with a different browser in case the cache or cookie store has messed up.
When did you hit this problem? There were some testnet issues over the weekend which caused problems with the webwallet (since it expects to be able to talk to mainet and testnet on the backend. Generally you should only need the seed, not any of that other info.
Yesterday, but also today. I don't believe i set a password. I notice in my notes that i have a wallet address and public key. I wonder if that means I already imported the seed (i don't think i did). I think the only way a password would be required is if i had previously imported the seed? i also tried the mac wallet, but it just showed a loading icon so after 12 hours i closed that app. not really sure what else to do - i figured my seed would be enough. any other ideas? thanks so much for your assistance
thanks, still no luck. this is my seed from the original airdrop. is there another wallet / app for the airdrop? in my notes i also have my decred address. if i have an address does that mean i already imported my seed ages ago? (i have no memory of doing so)
Not necessary. In process of generating intial (airdrop) wallet, seed was automatically generated by software and you were adviced to write down your seed. If you not have write down or save by some other meaning this airdrop seed or hex, your wallet is unfortunately lost for good.
i did write down the seed it seems to be a properly formatted seed. when i change it slightly i get an error that the passphrase in invalid. pretty sure the seed is good. so i think i have my seed correct. i suppose i might have set a password but none of my usual passwords are working. i dont suppose anyone here recalls anything specific about the password that would have been set? e.g. format / length requirements etc? thank you!
here is what i get (attachments). im not sure what a derivation path or wallet service URL is, but can someone confirm that the info looks correct?
